Tick tock. Tick tock.

Jacob held his breath as the clock ticked and the lawyer read through the document. He exhaled slowly, feeling as though it had been hours but as he looked up, he could see only minutes had passed. A trickle of sweat ran down his back. The heat and humidity of Florida in June felt much different than similar temperatures in California. A simple land purchase, that’s all Walt asked him to do but he felt like he was robbing a bank. The lawyer has asked more questions than Jacob had expected and he knew how important it was to keep the true buyer of this land confidential.

So here he sat, Jacob Milner, the representative of Wildlife and Land Trust, a company buying land to help preserve the nature of Florida. And Walt had assured him this wasn’t a lie; he would be reserving a portion of the total land purchased to maintain a conservation section that would never be built on. At least Wildlife and Land Trust (Walt) didn’t sound as obvious as M.T. Lott (empty lot).

The sound of the Disney Dixieland band jolted Jacob from his memories. It hardly seemed like six years had passed since he sat sweating in that real estate office. He stood, clutching his Eleven Adventure ticket book as he waited to enter, while the Windsor family, the first visitors of Walt Disney World, passed through the gates. What a sight he wished Walt had lived to see!
